3 articles involving 13 important steps to having a successful party.

Part 1: Party Planning, Part 2: Party Preparation, Part 3: The day of the party

Part 2: Party Preparation

Party Preparation involves a lot of organisational skills. These steps will help you to make sure you cover all those nitty-gritty details and to ensure the big day is a success.

6. Time to Invite and Follow up

The inviting of your guests plays a very vital part in the success of your party. Invite your guests well ahead of the party so that they cletters-clip-art-14an make it a priorety on their "To-Do" list. (This is why tip #1 is at the top of the list!) After having sent out the invites, send an email reminder a week before and perhaps a friendly sms saying "Looking forward to seeing you at the party tomorrow!" the day before your party. This will let your guests know that you are interested in having each one of them there personally.

7. Lighting, Music and Mood

Your theme will determine the type of atmosphere you will want at your party. Are you going to impress with a stylish, sophisticated vibe? Or will you have a viberant and lively feel? Either way, lighting and music play an important role in the creation of your atmosphere. Also adding props will really emphasize the theme and help transport your guests into a fantasy world. See our wide range of scene setters that you can choose from to match your party theme. So whether its dining by candle light or   fun in the sun, be sure to create the right atmosphere for a successful party.

8. Decor

Decor is one of the most important elements to any successful party. Great decor will leave a lasting impression that your guests will remember for a long time. You are more than welcome to speak to any of our consultants for advice or help with your decor. The basics to decor are:

* Table settings : this includes all your tables and chairs, table cloths and chair covers, centre pieces, cups, plates and so on...

* The cake : this can be a great highlight at any party. The style of your cake should match the type of party you are having. For example, choose a more elegant cake for a formal function.

* Balloons : balloons add festivity, atmosphere and a touch of class to your event. There is almost no limit to how creatively they can be arranged. Tip: Balloons come in many different colours and are much easier to match with your colour scheme than flowers!

9. It's all Fun and Games!5288193-clip-arts-of-wine-fruits-and-cheese

Let's face it, you don't want your guests to be bored at your party. You need to have some sort of attraction to keep your guests entertained. Whether it's that jumping castle for your kiddies' party, the dance floor for your teens or a cheese and wine tasting competition for the adults, everyone needs to have a good time!

10. Expect the Unexpected

So now you've thought of everything, hmm? Well, you need to be prepared for the unexpected. Sit yourself down and go through the party again. This is best done somewhere where you're relaxed. Pour yourself a glass of wine or grab a beer out the fridge. Sit down in your favourite arm chair or climb into a steamy hot bubble bath. Now, get out your note pad and pen and just run through everything again. This will ensure that you are prepared for the things that could possibly go wrong so that on the big day you won't miss a beat!
